The theme of Return Stronger gives you the freedom to express your creativity based on inspirations from life and the beauty of humanity.

The Overall Judging Criteria

Preliminary Round

  • Does the short film submission follow the guidelines?

  • Does the short film submission is not exceed 30 minutes in duration?

  • Is the information included in the registration form accurate and current? 

  • Are any copyrighted materials used in the short film?

  • Is any portion of the short film inappropriate?

  • Did the contestant complete all necessary forms; online entry form and, if needed, actor release/parent permission forms ?

Final Round

There are two (2) components for Final Round: Professional Judging and Online Voting

Films will be judged on originality, creativity, plot, pacing, structure, characters, cinematography and entertainment value as well as on effectiveness of the message in capturing your audience’s attention

The winner of The Best Director Award will be selected as Finalist for Rahsia Sutradara by Malaysia Cinematic Auteurs Guild (MCAG) under Malaysia Creative Capabilities Enhancement Programme (MyCAP).

Theme holds a film together. What make a great director is how he/she communicates theme or an artistic statement by using artistic elements of film.
